stoned immaculate

stoned immaculate clothing

if i could be a fashion brand and when i say be i mean live in the lookbooks and perfectly embody ‘the girl’ the founder imagines when designing her lines – it would be
S T O N E D  I M M A C U L A T E.
created in LA and both a selection of found vintage and it’s own original label, the collections are a perfect curation of retro inspired t-shirts, fine knit jumpers in mustard and stripes, denims, deep vs and flares both bottoms and sleeves, inspired by the hazy days of californias golden era.
EVERYTHING. I. LOVE.
being january and all; shopping + shipping is unpardonable. so adding to ‘the things to shop for next time we pop to america’ wishlist and sharing favourites from the dreamy film-still like lookbooks here is about all i can do.
FOR NOW.  FOR NOW JOHN.

caves collect

caves collect

on the W E A R wish list  //  C A V E S  C O L L E C T

everything i like about fashion is this brand. dungaree style throw ons braces buttons and shirts. + simple quality leather goods. easy wearing versatile pieces designed and handcrafted with sustainability + quality at the heart.

Caves Collect believe in producing quality products which are built to last.  Subscribing to a slow fashion mentality, believing that both clothing and leather products can be produced and consumed thoughtfully.

choosing to grow the label slowly – mindfully – the girls behind this dream brand johanna + sarah keep the bi-annual collections small + currently only sell from their online shop – producing each piece to order. i feel like i’m always finding these makers + designers i fall in love with and surely they end up being from places far from here leaving me to either moan and spend the night pinning each perfect item to a board named I WANT or to bite the possibly unjustifiable-shopping bullet and spend the extra monies on crazy international delivery because hey – if you love something right? but no joke – this melbourne based design duo offer FREE WORLD WIDE SHIPPING. a rare wonderful thing – no excuses necessary. f*yes.

the street style photography used to showcase each collection makes me love this label more. clothes being lived in. sun scorch + blur.

birkenstocks.

birkenstocks

ITS ALMOST TIME.

it may have been snowing the other day .. but the sun is coming out in albeit tiny waves and so easy spring summer dressing time is coming up and I AM READY. my wardrobe doesn’t vary much by season. much like my home style doesn’t vary much by room. but come less-chilly season – sandals are for er’day so i do like the warmer-even-slightly weather for this reason if not all the sun time beers.
(im also on the hunt for a new light coat much like yon there that the girl in the hat in socks is wearing. i cant tell you how much i like that coat. but anyway)

BIRKENSTOCKS.

i loved this comfy sandal-shoe all through teenage life. and i won’t stop now. just try and divorce me for it john. who would pick the vegetables out of the washing machine if i wasn’t here huh? EXACTLY.

gill nails her birkenstocks like the girl top left with her shiny rose golds + im aiming for top-middle girl or – sorry john – girl in dream coat + socks. i don’t care what he says about the socks.

i’d also crap my pants over a pair of these but for SOME REASON they have been discontinued. theres a wailing emoji if ever i’ve used one.

here’s to sandals + spring summer easy mornings throwing on 4 things instead of 10.

alison macleod

alison macleod

ALISON MACLEOD was one of the first talented friends i chose to share with you when i started this blog last year – and i am pretty sure i will want to share every single collection she creates and every lookbook she ever shoots with caro weiss photography for as long as i have this space..

alisons delicate designs are inspired by the art of collecting things – all of her pieces like treasures. beautiful trinkets to wear and cherish over years. intricate fine little objects to keep and become attached to and maybe pass down to someone later in life. the kind of jewellery you can wear every day – charming and demure – but when you do take it off, is kept in some kind of wonderful little open box or dangled displayed on a table alongside other collected curios in your home.

the tiny catkin necklet in gold is the daintiest beautiful thing on my wish list this year (and lasts) and i patiently – tolerantly – wait for the day that the husband and alison have that conversation ..

paloma wool

paloma wool

i first read about PALOMA WOOL here last year.
in that interview with freunde von freunden, paloma talks about her approach and how this project came to be. its an inspiring read. i knew that this was not just another clothing line.
paloma lannas designs are made in small batch limited edition collections centred around the idea of artist collaboration, experimenting and expression.
gathering together her design aspirations and ideas with her love of photography and other artists work, paloma shoots the lookbooks herself – on analogue – decidedly creating imagery as important as the clothing itself.
if this was an instagram post i would be using the # youmoveme.

“this project is about getting dressed and about space or ideas that are created around the act of getting dressed.”

on my wish list : the ramen coat / the mauricio dress / the souvenir ii tshirt / & the palma ii top

hilary grant knitwear

December 7, 2015

hilary grant knitwear

winter is my favourite season. i love the cold dark days – layers and lamps, candles and blankets, pubs and pints. being cold – and more often than not soaked – and then getting warm. never appreciating being cosy more than if you have been outside in a wet winter. the rush to get in from the weather and take your sog off turn the heating on and put on an oversized jumper and thick socks. warm sweetened whiskys or chocolatey stouts. roasting hot tea. reading books under blankets. cooking and steaming up windows. realising that although its been dark for hours.. it’s only 7oclock and you have the whole night to spend. i get very nostalgic in winter.
then there’s the rush to get out into the most beautiful of days –  a crispy winter sun one –  putting on all of the layers, boots and hats, and bundling outside for a walk and into an old comfy pub (never a bar) feeling festive and merry and warm.

HILARY GRANT KNITWEAR is all about those feelings. staple winter accessories with a nod to classic shapes and craftsmanship. blankets that could easily become heirlooms. modern, yet almost traditional nostalgic pattern designs and subtle wide-ranging colour ways. this is the kind of knitwear that you keep for a long time. and cherish. the kind of things you look after.  handcrafted from the softest lambswool and designed with durability in mind – hilary, based in the highlands of scotland, wholeheartedly believes in making pieces that last. winter after winter.

we complain about the weather in this country so often, but i feel very lucky to need such beautiful practical pieces in my wardrobe all year round. especially when they look like hilarys autumn/winter collection..

any of these accessories would make a special gift this festive season. trendy yet classic. super wearable but with personality and style. and so importantly in this throwaway culture we’ve created – handcrafted in scotland by a young talented designer who believes that everyday items should still be beautifully made. and made to last.

GO. check out hilarys beautiful website and give someone – maybe you? – a bit of woolly joy this winter. and if you are in Glasgow – come along to the grey wolf studio sale this thursday and hand pick from the hilary grant a/w collection in person. good luck choosing a favourite….
